Lingua Gustatio: 5 Restaurants/ Cafe in Icon City Penang

Icon City is one of the latest dining spots in Bukit Mertajam with multifarious cuisines. I would always be in dilemma over choosing where to dine in this place because there are too many choices ranging from Chinese hotpot, Japanese, Western cuisine and etc. 

大山脚Icon City是近年来火红的晚餐聚会地点。这里有中式，日式，韩式等等，每次选择要吃什么都很困扰。（选择困难症）

1. Fourspoons Dessert Cafe

It has garnered so much attention since its opening last year and undoubtedly, it is above our expectation with their signature homemade dessert.

ps. such an instagrammable place

很漂亮的甜点咖啡厅，一开幕就吸引很多人来打卡。

他们家主打是都是自家做的冰淇淋，尤其是这香烤奶茶味，我真的很喜欢。

2. Arnold Cycling Coffee Icon City

Most of the people have visited Arnold Cycling Cafe in Raja Uda Butterworth and here's the sister branch.

阿诺在北海已经是很有名了，这里是他们的分店，同样也是有脚车与咖啡。

Latte, Hazelnut Choco, Cuppuccino

Good thing about Arnolds as it starts its business as early as 9AM when all the other shops are closed.

他们早上9点就开店了，因为其他的都是中午才营业，所以可以在这里吃早餐哦。

3. Gia Xiang Restaurant - BM 家乡重庆火锅馆

There are a handful of steamboat restaurants over here and I really wonder why do all the investors here chip in money in hotpot. 

Nevertheless, Gia Xiang is one of our fav, an all-rounder.

这里真的有好多重庆火锅店，不过我们最喜爱的还是这家，

因为价钱公道而且味道十足。

Dry Pot Raw Bone 干锅排骨(RM48 Small)

必点的就是这排骨啦，里头有很多很多以香料焖出来的排骨，又辣又香。

We had the same thing on our second visit and surprisingly this time it's served without coriander and with more chilli.

第二次我们也点了同样的干锅，只不过这次店家没放芫茜，反而多了很多辣椒干。

Additional spices 

Here comes the fiery spicy soup and the regular clear soup
我们选了清汤和麻辣汤

Remember to get some homemade pork balls and also some drinks. Our lips and tongue were in paresthesia mode for the entire night. 

记得点他们的手打猪肉丸，个人很喜欢还有要最好要点饮料，因为那麻辣汤真的会让你的唇舌麻痹啦。

4. The Will's Brasserie

This ain't a typical Western franchise outlet but a cozy heartfelt one.

满街都是西餐厅不过这家让我的感觉就是很有诚意的一家。

Mushroom Soup with Puff Pastry

Love the freshly baked pastry for its crispiness and the finely blended mushrooms underneath. It might take a lil time for this to be served but it's all worth it. 

蘑菇汤很浓厚，还有那上头的泡芙很脆又美味。不过需要一点时间准备。

Grilled Salmon (Rm35+)

Every fish was handpicked and cooked to your own perfection.

 这里的鱼都是自选然后厨师才为你个人准备你要的熟度。

Herbs Chicken

Lightly scented, yet moisture and tender 

香料烤鸡味道刚刚好，而又不失鸡肉的质感。

5. Iconic Hotel Buffet Dinner @ Mezza9

Iconic Hotel has been varying its buffet dinner with exclusive theme every month and it was The Taste of Nyonya last month.

最后要提的就是Iconic Hotel的自助餐啦。上个月的主题是娘惹，他们都会不定时的更换主题，让饕客们有新鲜感。

Wide array of selection with the must-have nyonya kuih, rendang and 
bubur cha cha as dessert.
种类繁多，娘惹糕，椰浆咖喱和莫莫喳喳都是娘惹菜招牌。

One of the signature Nyonya snacks - Popiah (Spring roll) with assorted vege 

薄饼也是招牌之一。

Overall the buffet was above our expectation in terms of the genuine taste of Nyonya and also the friendly service. Anyway, the current theme for this month is about seafood and perhaps I shall visit it again soon~

基本上大家都很满意他们家的自助餐而据说这个月的主题是海鲜类，

看来我又得去试试看啦。
