DoroEats: Serdang Fried Porridge & Curry Wild Boar 正宗西岭炒粥及咖喱山猪肉

If you love to travel for food, with a merely half an hour journey from Kulim town, you will get to taste the authentic fried porridge in this small town named Serdang. (not the Selangor Serdang)
从居林开车半小时,来到西岭吃当地的炒粥。(话说这里的路有点暗~)

There are two local restaurants selling the same fried porridge and today we have chosen Sin Aik Kee Restaurant which seems to be the older shop.
易记炒粥是老字号,环境也比较陈旧些(没冷气哦)。

While waiting for the dishes to be served, we went opposite to Bie You Tian Restaurant to get some Curry Wild Boar which is another local delicacy.
等的时候有点久,我们就去了对面的别有天打包咖喱山猪肉。

This was the portion for RM25 being shared among 8 of us.
可能是很饿了,三两口就把这吃光光了。

炒粥由浓浓的黑酱油炒成,加了猪油,肉片,鱿鱼还有韭菜,味道香郁值得一试。
Fried Porridge/ Char Moay (RM13) was made up of overnight porridge stir-fried with dark soy sauce, salted pork, dried squid and topped with Chinese chives. The fragrance of the soy sauce and lard made the entire porridge immensely flavourful. 

Halved Cockles 半边蚶 (RM12)
The sweet & sour taste of cockles was very different with the usual blood stench. In fact, it's the most popular dish besides the fried porridge. 
微辣炒蚶味道不错,没有平时吃的血腥味。 

Steamed Fish 蒸鱼 (RM99)
The entire fish was steamed atop of charcoal, with plenty of shredded ginger, sourplums and tomatoes which made it very mouth-watering and appetizing.
蒸鱼加了酸梅番茄等,味道酸酸的非常开胃。

Stir-fried Cuttlefish 炒鱿鱼 (RM18)
The cuttlefish was stir-fried with oyster and soy sauce and the taste was pretty common. 比较普通的一道。


Sour Plum Chicken 酸梅鸡 (RM30)
Lastly we had the fried chicken in sour plum sauce which was reasonably seasoned but nothing to be bragged about. 也是比较普通的炸鸡淋上酸梅汁。
