Lingua Gustatio: Projek Nasi Lemak

The most typical brunch for a Malaysian is one bungkus (pack) of nasi lemak which means the rice simmered in coconut milk and wrapped with pandan leaf. And now we can have it all day long at Projek Nasi Lemak.

Since its opening in 2016, the outlet has always attracted many patrons and even media reporters. What makes it so captivating?

The interior portrays simple kampung (village) design accommodating around 15 tables. Luckily we did not have to queue for the seats as it was not rush hours.

A Set for 2 includes fried chicken, squid, brinjal, fish and rice which is certainly ample for three of us. Besides, it comes with 2 glasses of coconut shake as well.

Apart from the usual side dishes like sambal, boiled eggs. anchovies and peanuts, Projek Nasi Lemak makes a twist by adding the butterfly pea flower into the rice. This romantic blue flower has recently getting the hype and it accentuates the aroma of the rice together with coconut milk.

Nasi lemak is frequently accompanied by fried chicken but over here, you could get more varieties like the huge fried squid and also the chilli stuffed fish.

This coconut shake reminds me of the famous Klebang coconut shake in Malacca but well at least we don't have to queue long for this milkshake. Lol
