DoroT: Brush & Watercolour Calligraphy Workshop
Happy Sunday! This is another soothing #throwback post for the weekend.
周末愉快！要和大家分享一个有趣又放松的小活动。
When was the last time you had your calligraphy class? Mine was more than 10 years ago when we were forced to hand in sheets of Chinese characters every week. Now today's class is utterly different as this is all about alphabets with plenty offun colours to write on.
还记得以前都得交上书法功课吗？大楷中楷小楷，十年后的今天学的是西洋大楷。哈哈。
Today's workshop is organized by Vivien, a young beautiful lass endowed with artistic ideas. She primarily conducts workshop in Penang and KL. We heard this workshop was fully booked within a few days and more and more people are gaining interest in these whimsical bouncing letters.
今天老师是一名气质美女Vivien。她经常都会在槟城吉隆坡开班。最近这水彩笔书法很热门，所以名额很快就满了。
We were given a full set of stationery like the calligraphy pen and brush, water colour set & palette and a brush calligraphy module.
大家都会有以下这一套的文具，毛笔，水彩笔，水彩，还有老师特制练习簿。
To begin, you gotta learn the fundamentals starting with a stroke.
初学第一章：
For upward stroke, you have to hold your brush with very light force to produce a thin line while for the downward stroke, you should exert some pressure to express a thick and smooth stroke.
向上一划，你的力度要轻，线条就会细。
向下呢，就得施点力度，以呈现出粗条纹。
Next, we moved on to write both the small letters and capital letters and lastly you can coin them to form a word and even a sentence.
学了基本功，就学ABC啦。老实说对于左撇子来说，M和N都画得歪歪的。（是我书法不好吧哈哈）
After mastering the pen brush, we were taught on how to use the watercolour brush. It was pretty wobbly for me initially as the brush was softer and difficult to control.
接着老师教水彩啦。水彩真的比较难控制力度，而且还要添加颜色，需要多多练习。
Nonetheless, I believe practice makes perfect, you can do better if you hone your skills frequently. (Some say daily o.O) 朋友说每天练习一定会有进步，当然咯。。。(懒惰中。。。呵呵）

The colourful pens you see on the right are the nib holders for copperplate calligraphy which is not covered today sadly. (It's another vast topic though.)
在右手边漂亮的彩绘笔是来写另外一种书法的。老师说那是另外一堂课。
