DAY 7 (Taichung - Taipei Shifen/ Jiufen/ Ximending)
After we checked out from Fengjia Europe Homestay, we were ready to move up North towards Taipei.
Our breakfast of the day: Pig blood soup at Healthy Pig Restaurant
离开逢甲，我们早餐去吃康康猪血汤。

This pig blood soup apparently is every native's breakfast. Anyway, I don't really fancy pig blood but the soup is delectable with the fresh pork meats.
猪血汤是台中人早餐必点之一。我个人不吃猪血啦，哈哈不过汤很好喝，有猪肉的精华。
Taiwan Lu Rou Noodle - Basically every braised pork rice/ noodle is delightful in every single restaurant in Taiwan. I guess it's probably because their pigs are fed healthily indeed.
台湾鲁肉饭几乎每一家都好吃，想必是这里的猪猪都很健康，肉质才很新鲜。
Next we had the urge of attempting on Hsinchu Vermicelli and our driver brought us here.
接下来我们拜托司机大哥带我们吃新竹米粉。
Da Mu Zhi 大拇指小馆

Unlike our bihun, the Hsinchu vermicelli is shorter in size and rather crispy in texture.
这米粉比较偏短和脆口，好吃哦。
Taiwan Gong Wan (Meatball) is purely hand rolled with minced pork and boiled in a clear
broth soup with coriander and onions.
贡丸汤也是必点，清汤放些葱头就很滋味了。
Hakka Stir-fry squid and vege 客家小炒，味道还好。
The next destination would be Shifen Waterfall, the largest cascade waterfall in Taiwan. What's cascade waterfall? It means the water flows in a direction while the rock is sloped in the opposite.
接着我们到十份瀑布，全台湾最宽的瀑布。
You have to pass through the suspension bridge in order to reach the amazing waterfall.
大家得经过这吊桥才能到另一头去。放心吊桥很稳，不会晃得很大。呵呵
There is this railway paralleling to the suspension bridge.
吊桥边就是火车轨道啦。
Look at the breathtaking and fascinating scenery.

Cute miniature lantern ice sticks, sweetened in various flavours.
天灯冰棒，很可爱是吧。
Arrived at the Shifen Old Street where all the tourists would send their wishes to the sky through lanterns but personally I don't really agree to it as the lanterns could easily cause fire to the
residents and also as a pollutional waste.
十分老街，大家都会放天灯的地方。我们没放因为担心说天灯会造成民居火灾还有其实也是会
制造更多垃圾。我们就只是向天许愿吧~ ^_^

The next station: My most favourite place Jiufen 大爱九份
If you have watched 'Spirited Away' a very popular Japanese animation, you would be surprised the scene inside is similar with Jiufen. Apparently the director from that movie was inspired by Jiufen natural landscape and therefore used it as the background setting.
看过千与千寻的人都知道戏里的背景是以九份概想出来的。
Hence, Jiufen has attracted most tourists from Japan after the influence of the movie.
We do spot tourists from Korea and Hong Kong as well.
所以九份吸引了很多日本旅客。我们也发现这里有很多韩国香港妹妹呢。
We adore this peanut wrap ice cream very much! Could be over candied if you are not a sweet tooth person.

The Golden Waterfall at Jinguashi 金瓜石瀑布
It used to be plenty of gold available here in the past centuries but now the gold mining is gone and this colour of soil is actually sulphurized leaving the waterfall to be golden.
话说以前这里是黄金采矿区，现在已经没啦，黄金色泥土是因为硫磺元素，所以才有黄金瀑布的名称。
Ximending Night Market 西门町夜市
The night market in Taipei is entirely different with the Southern ones as it is finely furnished and more systematic. Food wise, each has its own pros.
台北夜市果然和南部不一样，装潢价钱都比较高级些。

The room was small undeniably but still not as small as the Fengjia homestay. Otherwise the stay was pleasant and could even fit 5 persons even we booked a 4 pax room.
房间不大不过还好，我们租4人房不过这里可以睡5个人哦。
DAY 8 - (Taipei - Taoyuan International Airport)
Last day of the holiday is always the sorrowful day as we were so reluctant to leave Taiwan. =( 最后一天。。。
Our breakfast goes to the renowned Yonghe Soy Milk and You Tiao.
尝尝有名的永和豆浆油条。

Normally the locals would dip the You Tiao (the long fried bun) into the soy milk to soften it and the combination is actually incredible. We also ordered other side dishes like egg rolls with cheese.
其实和我们的豆浆油条味道差不多，蛋饼反而就比较特别，里头还可以加芝士，培根等等。
Right next we moved to Yehliu Geopark, another panoramic landscape to look forward.
接着去野柳看石头。哈哈。
The natural swirl-like sand and rocks are the trademark of Yehliu attracting visitors worldwide.
沙石的花纹是不是很特别噢。
The iconic Queen's Head was duplicated in the entrance for photo taking to ease the crowd obviously and to avoid any destruction from people (yes there are people like that).
话说野柳最有名的就是女皇头，所以他们建了两个复制头在门口让大家拍照。
Many many mushroom heads spotted here. lol
Oh here is the fossil of sea urchins. 看，海胆化石。
Now I introduce you to the Queen~ 女皇~
The elephant's trunk~ (Looks like crocodile to me anyhow lol)
大象鼻子，虽然个人认为像鳄鱼。。。

Oh yes look at the queue, and we decided to take image from behind. It's the same anyway.
The naturally formed Queen's head rock is getting eroded as time passes by (plus a little of manmade destruction eg tourists trying to touch it despite warnings signs given), and therefore they have rebuilt two duplicates at the entrance for the tourists.
是不是很多人排队呢？我们拍一点就出去啦。哈哈天气很热叻。
Next, we visited Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf - the most heard in travelling channel
but I couldn't see any fisherman here. lol
淡水鱼人码头，渔人呢？
Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is well known for fascinating sunset but too bad we were a little too early. lol It somehow looks similar to Penang Straits Quay with few eatery outlets and also some beautiful speed boats docked aside.
其实我们来早了，这里是应该看日落的，没办法啦。。最后一天了。=(
Walking towards the end of Tamsui, we stopped by a small shop selling beef and pork noodles.
话说还没试试台湾牛肉面。
This beef noodle soup had the fragrant aroma of beef and it could even serve two with the
heavy portion of meat and body parts.
牛肉味道十足，汤头很鲜甜，而且还很大碗可以两人share呢。
Comparatively the braised pork rice is not up to my taste as they serve the pork fats which I don't fancy of.
鲁肉饭就不多说了，好多油哦。。。
The pork noodle seemed to fare reasonably well.
猪肉面味道就还不错啦。
This is Fried Milk in which the frozen milk balls would be fried instantly providing
a crunchy and milky bite, a pretty good snack.
炸奶，很特别的一道小吃。外边脆皮加里面软软的牛奶，味道不错。
The rain started to pour when we visited Wufenpu garment wholesale market and also Shilin Night Market. So, we didn't take any photos at those places. Nonetheless, we were pretty lucky as it only rained at the last day of our trip.
我们去五分埔和士林夜市时候都下很大雨，所以没拍什么照片。
The pic above is Oyster Meesua in Shilin Night Market and it was our last meal of the day!
(IF you love garlicky taste then this would be your favourite too.)
士林夜市的蚵仔面线，如果你喜欢满满的蒜头味，你应该会喜欢它。（话说台湾食物很多都有蒜头，葱头等等）

Can't resist looking at the classy and artistic decoration of the airport walkway.
最后回到了桃园机场，想说的是他们的机场很美啊~~
The common souveniors like nougat, pineapple tart, sun cookies etc etc etc
手信无非就是牛轧糖，凤梨酥，太阳饼等等。
Beauty stuff to beautify myself lol 面膜是必买的！
Honestly we love this Grape Seed Extracts the most. Just add water into 2 spoons of this and that could make you a lovely grape juice. Is anyone of you travelling to Taiwan soon? Get me one of this pls. It's almost finished lol.
话说我最爱的葡萄籽，很好喝！谁帮我再买多两罐好吗？
