DoroTravels: DAY 1 & 2 TAIWAN 8D7N 台湾半自由行八天七夜 (Taoyuan桃园 - Taichung台中 - Kaohsiung高雄)

Yes, it's #DoroTravels again! Taiwan was my long anticipated vacation. This itinerary is going to take me weeks to complete but here is the fresh first post and I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Day 1

KL - Taipei Airasia 亚航吉隆坡-桃园 Return ticket RM700+ 

Local bus 国光客运至台中  - Taichung (NT$ 240)

Check in - FengJia Europe 住宿逢甲小欧洲民宿 四人房无早餐(NT$ 2000)

Day 2

Taichung - Kaohsiung

Breakfast - Taichung Market 早餐台中第二市场

Crystal Church 水晶教堂

Fort Provintia 赤崁楼 (NT$50/25 )

Check in - 85 Sky Tower Condo 住宿85幸福公寓四人房包早餐(NT$3150)

DAY 1 (Taoyuan 桃园- Taichung 台中)

Once we arrived at Taoyuan Airport at around 2PM, we were ravenous that we decided to dine in the airport. Everything above tasted pretty well or perhaps we were too hungry. The top right is the best as 3 different meats: chicken, duck and pork were served. (NT$170) 我们大约下午两点抵达桃园，肚子咕噜咕噜的叫，所以我们就在机场吃咯。以上食物味道皆不错而且很大分量，可以两人share一份。

We headed straight to Taichung with express bus (Kuo-Kuang Bus) 

and the cost was quite reasonable  - NT$240. 

填饱了肚子，我们就搭国光客运到台中 (一人台币240)。

We slept through the 2 hours journey as it was a smooth course without bumps or potholes and most importantly the driver did not speed at all). Right after we arrived at the Taichung Chaoma bus station, we checked into our homestay, Feng Jia Europe. (NT$2000)

睡了两个小时的旅程，终于到了台中朝马站。我们就check in 逢甲小欧洲民宿。（台币2000）

We were given a 5 persons' room though we booked for a 4 persons' room. The room was clean and neat BUT the walkway was too narrow. Besides, if your room is at level 3, you gotta carry your own luggage up. It was fine for us but probably not so suitable for elderly people. 

我们租了四人房不过房主给我们五人房。房间洁净不过很狭窄，开行李箱都有点困难。还有如果你的房间是在三楼，那就得运动一下了。年轻人是没问题，不过老人家不是很适合了。

The advantage of this homestay is zero walking distance to the Feng Jia night market as it is right in the centre of market! 不过最大的好处就是民宿外面就是逢甲夜市啦~~~

Apparently this was the 'stinkiest' smelly tofu we had tried but it tasted really good especially the crispy tofu skin. 最好吃的臭豆腐~

Basically the food gallery above shows the best street food amongst all. #EATthemALL 

琳琅满目，目不暇给，以上样样都好吃噢！

DAY 2 (Taichung 台中- Kaohsiung 高雄)

Rise and shine! We were grateful to have a local guide for food scouting. Yes we booked a cab throughout the trip and the driver was so amiable and funny. Do contact me if you wish to know him. 

昨晚民宿没有提供早餐，我们的包车司机就带我们吃道地早点。可以在下面留言拿他的联络噢。

He introduced us to the local food market at San Min Road in 

which the typical tour guides wouldn't bring us to. 

他带我们来到了三民路的台中第二市场。

1. Bak Pao & Wan Tan Soup 肉包和生馄飩

2. Fu Zhou Noodle 三代福州意面老店

This Fu Zhou noodle was frequently visited by artists and even promoted to the TV broadcast. 

这福州意面真的好有名，好多明星和时尚玩家都有来拜访。

We just can't bear with the braised egg and tofu as they were too hard in texture, prolly overcooked?

意面是不错，不过这卤蛋和豆干就好硬。。。

3. Chai Tao Kueh + Glutinous Rice Kuey with egg 菜头粿 + 米腸 + 蛋

Personally I don't really fancy this as the garlic flavour is overriding. 

个人不是很喜欢吃啦因为蒜头味好重。

Besides, here is their local version of Starbucks - 85'c Cafe. 这是台湾连锁咖啡厅-85度c.

OMG look at the cutie cakes! We were able to get 85% off in conjunction with Mother's day. 可爱贝？

Hello Kitty fans would adore this to the max. 谁是哈罗凯蒂猫粉丝呀？

After having our brunch, we headed South towards Tainan which took around 2 hours to arrive. 

(Well of course we did stop for food hunting along the journey =D ) 接下来，我们就南下两小时到台南。

This was Wan Gao (Glutinous rice pudding) exclusively renowned in Madou district. 

It tasted pretty much like our glutinous rice dumpling. 

麻豆碗糕是麻豆特点之一，好像咸咸的年糕，而且有种阿嘛的味道，好怀念噢~

We arrived at Chigu Salt Mountain which is a landmark in Tainan. The solar salt was once used for agriculture and industry but it was ceased in 2002 and currently left as an attraction spot. The cupid salt sculpture below is its welcoming icon and you could see people walking up but honestly there was nothing much to see from the top. 

走啊走，就到了七股盐山。话说盐山以前是用于农业和工业区不过在2002年就不再营业了，而现在就是一个旅游景点。他们还刻了丘比特模型在山上让游客拍照。（不过走上去没什么特别景点啦）

Chigu Salt Mountain

Try a salty ice cream, will ya? but this is choco yogurt anyway. haha 

可以试试这台盐冰淇淋？不过这是巧克力优酪乳。哈哈。

Wonder why is there a Chinese/ Napa cabbage? Its name 'Bai Chai' also rhymes for hundreds of fortune. Therefore, it is no surprise to see this vege all over Taiwan. lol 

是不是很好奇为什么有白菜呢？白菜白菜，寓意百财，大家都爱财嘛!

Next we hopped onto our minivan and moved to this elegant church. Beimen Crystal Church 

接下来我们就到新热门地 - 北门水晶教堂. 

Beimen Crystal Church

This crystal church was opened in 2014 with the theme of love and art. It actually attracts lovebirds to take their pre-wedding photos here. Besides, there are few 'exotic' art structures as attraction. lol Go find them out yourself. 

水晶教堂在两年前兴建，以主题爱和艺术来吸引游客。有很多情侣们都到这拍摄婚纱。除此，这里也有一些‘特别‘的景点，你们自己去看看吧。

Fort Provintia/ Chihkan Tower is a historical landmark that you can't miss in Tainan. It was apparently built in 1653 during the Dutch colonization and of course the one we visited is the rebuilt architecture. 赤崁楼是台南的地标，在十六世纪荷兰人统治台湾就建成，而这是重新翻新的。

Entrance Fee: NT$50 (NT$25 for student/ senior citizen)

You can purchase the fish pellet from this giant koi and feed them! It's only NT$10 each. 

可以向这锦鱼买台币10块鱼料喂鱼噢。

I just can't take my eyes off of this beautiful tower, how impressive looking it is right? 

漂亮吧？这真的是老少咸宜的景点，可以看看古迹，学习历史文化。

Just right opposite the fort, there are few shops selling local food that served us just right for dinner. 

在赤崁楼对面，有很多很多小吃。

The Dan Zai Mian fared pretty well or perhaps we were too hungry haha. Well, at least the braised egg was not hard as the ones we had in the morning. 担仔面味道是好吃，至少卤蛋不比早上的硬。哈哈

There were other local street snacks like these, Guan Cai Ban (Coffin bread), fried fish sticks, fried oysters with egg. 其他小吃：棺材板，炸鱼片，蚝煎。

Taiwan is enriched with fruits as well particularly their homegrown wax apples and pineapples. 

台湾地质好，水果年年都大丰收，尤其是鲜甜的水翁和凤梨。

Their humongous watermelon is definitely double or even triple the size of ours. 大瓜，真的好大~~~~

Next, we checked into this 85 Sky Tower in Kaohsiung and all of us cou'd not wait for the magnificent view from high levels but sadly our homestay was at lvl 17 only..lol 

我们登入85大楼幸福公寓，以为有机会住上80楼，啊结果只是17楼而已。哈哈

Overall, the stay was pleasant as it was quite spacious for 4 of us. (NT$3150/night with breakfast) 民宿很棒，房间蛮大的，而且有提供早餐，台币3150一晚。

The night was still young and we decided to head out. We took a stroll to the opposite of tower and had some cakes in Donut King Cafe. Apparently the next day's breakfast would be served here as well. 接下来我们到大楼附近走走，到了对面的多纳力咖啡厅吃蛋糕。（明天的早餐是这里提供的）

I really don't have any comments on the cake despite the delicate appearance. lol.. 

蛋糕是还好啦，很精致。

Earl Grey Tea did not disappoint us anyhow as the proportion between the tea and milk was fairly even and smooth in taste.  奶茶好好喝哦，味道刚刚好。
